World No. 3 Jessica Pegula has revealed whether her desire to prove her self-sufficiency motivates her because her father is a billionaire. I always thought about it and, probably, even tried too hard before. And that just creates more pressure.
Over the years, I have become more relaxed about my family and lineage. Maybe when I let go of that pressure, it became easier for me to earn my achievements and make my name known for what I do on the court.
Of course, this is a very pleasant feeling. Especially the fact that many people now know me as a great tennis player. This is simply a reflection of my work that I have done to earn this right. And I always thought that it would be more difficult for me to deserve it, because my family is known to others. And in the end, I probably stopped trying so hard to prove something.
In the end, everything turned out naturally, and it is very pleasant.
