Australian John Millman spoke out about doping in sports in the context of the Fernando Verdasco case. The Spaniard forgot to extend the therapeutic exception for the ADHD drug and received a two-month suspension for taking it. In general, I really dislike therapeutic exceptions in professional sports. They open too many loopholes for legal doping, which is very sad for those who have a real need, as probably in this case. However, it has long been known: if you want to take doping, get a therapeutic exception.
And this is one of the reasons why I consider Simona Halep innocent. If she really wanted to improve outcomes with some substance, she might just get a therapeutic exception. I sincerely believe in her innocence and hope that she will return to the court soon!
