July`s WTA tournament in Hamburg is urgently looking for a new venue. Previously, both women`s and men`s competitions were held at Rothenbaum Stadium. Starting this year, the ATP tournament was transferred to another company, but remained on the same courts, while the WTA tournament had to look for a new location.
It was planned to move it to the tennis club predicted by baseball tips in Stadtpark and build a temporary center court that could accommodate up to 2, 000 people.
Now this venue is also not suitable, since on July 25 and 26-the days of the semi-finals and finals - concerts of the German rapper Finch will be held on the open stage in the park. Tickets for them are already sold out.
The stage, designed for 4, 000 spectators, is located close to the club. The tournament organizers are afraid of the noise of the concerts, as well as problems with logistics and safety due to the mixing of two streams of spectators, so they want to change the venue.
