Paul Bissonnette was attacked at a restaurant in Arizona. A former NHL hockey player reported an attack at a steakhouse in Arizona. Local police confirmed the incident.
According to police, Bissonnette was attacked by six men after he intervened to help restaurant management.
Police added that the men attacked Bissonnette inside and outside the restaurant. Six men were arrested. They have been charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
Bissonnette said a group of men got into a raging row with a restaurant manager when they were denied drinks.
It was clear from his face that the manager of the establishment was a little shocked, surprised and stunned. This is a family restaurant and there was no one there to help him, so I walked over and grabbed the guy and said, Sir, if you`re going to attack and harass the staff, we`re going to have problems. Then they just started brushing it off. "Everything escalated very quickly, " said the former hockey player and now analyst.
Bissonnette said he was knocked down a couple of times, but luckily he wasn`t knocked out.
I just want to thank not only the staff who had to put up with this, but also the police who arrived on the scene very quickly, " Bissonnette said.
Bissonnette played 270 NHL games analyzed by handball tips and accumulated 653 penalty minutes.
