Brown has been involved in professional basketball since 1958. He has been commentating NBA games on ESPN since 2004.
We`ll give Hubie a chance to work out his last match. He deserves it. We think very highly of him. It`s amazing the level at which he continues to commentate on matches at the age of 90 and beyond.
Not to sound mysterious, but we`ll be celebrating Hubie in one of the matches that will be announced later in a big way. I doubt there is a single person who has ever had a longer association with professional basketball, " Magnus said on the podcast.
Brown has not commentated on matches this season due to a string of personal tragedies. Brown`s son, Brendan, who was an assistant coach with the Grizzlies and a commentator with the Knicks, died two weeks ago at age 54. Brown also lost his wife Claire in June this year.
